DESCRIPTION:Opera Night!\nECO’s 2022-2023 Season Masterworks Concert Series continues with our Fall Concert\, featuring a veritable potpourri of operatic favorites! The program begins with selections from Mozart’s classic Don Giovanni – including the Overture and La ci Darem la Mano. Then – no operatic program would be complete without Puccini! ECO will perform Puccini’s O Mio Babbino Caro from Gianni Schicchi\, followed by the Finale of Act I from La Boheme. \nThe second half of the program includes Johann Strauss II’s Fledermaus Polka\, Franz Lehár’s Meine lippen sie kussen so heiss from Giuditta\, Pietro Mascagni’s Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana\, and much more. \nECO is thrilled to announce the return of two fantastic guest soloists – soprano Nadya Hill and tenor Michael Hoffman – for this concert! The program begins with one of ECO Music Director William Hill’s newest compositions – his Symphony No. 4. Bill’s Fourth Symphony is composed in the “classical” style featuring four movements. \nThe second half of the program consists of a classical masterpiece – Franz Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 101 in D Major\, H. 1/101 – known by its colloquial name “The Clock” for the ticking rhythm throughout the second movement. This work is part of a group of the twelve London Symphonies that Haydn composed during his two visits to London. The 101st Symphony was composed during his second visit\, between 1793 – 1794\, and this group contains some of his most well-known works. \n\nPROGRAM\nWilliam Hill\nSymphony No. 4 – “Classical”\nI – Andante; Allegro vivo \nII – Adagio \nIII – Allegro \nIV: Vivace \nFranz Joseph Haydn\nSymphony No. 101 in D Major\, H. 1/101 – “The Clock”\nI – Adagio \nII – Andante \nIII – Menuetto; Allegretto \nIV: Finale: Vivace \nPlease review ECO’s COVID-19 Policies for Live Events before purchasing.
