Join us at 5:30 pm on June 26th\, 2025 at the beautiful Mount Vernon Canyon Club to support the Evergreen Chamber Orchestra and celebrate the mountain classical music community. \nWe will bring our incredible 2024-2025 Season to a close with an intimate gathering of the ECO community for an evening of world-class jazz\, a delicious buffet dinner with dessert\, an exclusive art show\, and great times with friends. ECO’s Music Director William Hill will be performing two sets with his Grammy-nominated band Bill Hill and Friends\, our silent auction will offer the opportunity to bid for unique items and memorable experiences\, and we’ll be recognizing some of the amazing people from the ECO community that have made a significant impact throughout this season. \nThe ECO Jazz Gala 2025 will feature two parts: first\, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm\, we will celebrate a successful 2025-2026 Season with hors d’oeuvres\, our silent auction\, and conversations with friends while Bill Hill and Friends perform a light swing / jazz set. Enjoy a relaxed\, intimate atmosphere and chat with Bill\, his band\, ECO musicians\, board members\, and other music-lovers from the ECO community. \nThen\, from 7:45pm to 9:00pm\, the Grammy-nominated group Bill Hill and Friends will perform a spectacular jazz-fusion set in a more traditional concert setting. The work was composed during 1811 and 1812 as Beethoven spent time in the spa town of Teplitz – hoping to improve his health. Beethoven’s hearing loss was markedly worsening\, but nonetheless the Symphony No. 7 is considered one of his crowning achievements. ECO’s Music Director William Hill will be performing two sets with his Grammy-nominated band Bill Hill and Friends\, our silent auction will offer the opportunity to bid for unique items and memorable experiences\, and we’ll be recognizing some of the amazing people from the ECO community that have made a significant impact throughout this season. \nThe ECO Jazz Gala 2026 will feature two parts: first\, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm\, we will celebrate a successful season with hors d’oeuvres\, our silent auction\, and conversations with friends while Bill Hill and Friends perform a light swing / jazz set. Enjoy a relaxed\, intimate atmosphere and chat with Bill\, his band\, ECO musicians\, board members\, and other music-lovers from the ECO community. \nThen\, from 7:45pm to 9:00pm\, the Grammy-nominated group Bill Hill and Friends will perform a spectacular jazz-fusion set in a more traditional concert setting. To celebrate 45 years\, each Masterworks Concerts will open with a special piece commissioned from a local composer. This dynamic program will begin with a special performance highlighting the creative work of ECO’s very own long-time cellist and arranger\, Mike Marecak. His piece brings a wonderful\, intimate touch to the stage that celebrates the artistry right here within our orchestra family. \nNext\, the spotlight turns to classical guitarist Masakazu Ito—an internationally acclaimed performer and the Music Director of the nearby Colorado School of Mines Philharmonic Orchestra. Ito joins ECO to perform Mauro Giuliani‘s groundbreaking Guitar Concerto No. 1. Premiered in Vienna in 1808\, this piece stands as the most outstanding early masterpiece written to elevate the classical guitar from a mere accompaniment instrument into a true\, commanding solo voice capable of dancing alongside a full chamber orchestra. \nECO’s Season Opener Concert culminates with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s brilliant Symphony No. 36\, “Linz”. In late 1783\, while stopping in the town of Linz on his way back to Vienna\, Mozart realized he did not have a single symphony score in his travel trunk for an upcoming concert. Working at a breakneck speed\, he sat down and composed this entire festive\, blazing masterpiece in just four days.
