SUMMARY:2026-2027 Masterworks Concert Series - Spring Concert – Foothills
DESCRIPTION:Masterworks Concert Series\nSpring Concert\nFoothills Performance\nJoin the Evergreen Chamber Orchestra for a thrilling afternoon of dramatic contrast\, vivid rhythm\, and symphonic innovation as we shake off the winter chill. The program opens with a special performance showcasing a brand-new work from local composer Bob Bassett as all Masterworks Concerts have done during our 45th season. Commissioned specifically for ECO\, this piece promises to capture the ensemble’s unique spirit and deliver an engaging start to our musical journey this afternoon. \nNext\, we journey to the sultry streets of Argentina with Astor Piazzolla’s mesmerizing The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires (Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas). Featuring the brilliant artistry of local virtuosos Lydia Sviatlovskaya on violin and Evan Orman on cello\, this masterpiece reimagines the traditional four-season cycle through the lens of nuevo tango. Originally written for Piazzolla’s own quintet\, this orchestral arrangement pulses with seductive syncopations\, gritty street rhythms\, and brilliant flashes of technical fireworks. Keep your ears open for clever\, tongue-in-cheek musical quotes from Antonio Vivaldi’s famous baroque Four Seasons hidden throughout the passionate\, tango-infused score. \nECO’s Spring Concert concludes with Robert Schumann’s revolutionary Symphony No. 4 in D Minor. Dissatisfied with standard symphonic structures\, Schumann originally wrote this piece in 1841 as a “Symphonic Fantasy\,” explicitly directing that all four movements be played straight through without pause. Bound together by shared thematic threads that morph and evolve as the music progresses\, the symphony journeys from a dark\, brooding introduction into an exhilarating\, triumphant finale of unbridled joy. \nProgram: \nBob Bassett\nInexplicable  \nAstor Piazzolla\nThe Four Seasons Of Buenos Aires (Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas) \nI. Verano Porteño (Buenos Aires Summer)\nII. Otoño Porteño (Buenos Aires Autumn)\nIII. Invierno Porteño (Buenos Aires Winter)\nIV. Primavera Porteña (Buenos Aires Spring) \nLydia Sviatlovskaya – Violin\nEvan Orman – Cello \nRobert Schumann\nSymphony No. 4 in D Minor\, Op. 120 \nI. Ziemlich langsam — Lebhaft (Quite slow — Lively)\nII. Romanze: Ziemlich langsam (Romance: Quite slow)\nIII. Scherzo: Lebhaft (Lively)\nIV. Langsam — Lebhaft (Slow — Lively) \nAll tickets to ECO Concerts and Events now include links to access the live-stream and video-on-demand replay of the concert! \nCan’t watch the concert at the time of the performance? SUMMARY:2026-2027 Masterworks Concert Series - Season Finale Concert – Foothills
DESCRIPTION:Masterworks Concert Series\nSeason Finale Concert\nFoothills Performance\nJoin the Evergreen Chamber Orchestra for an unforgettable grand finale to our 45th season\, celebrating sweeping masterworks\, brilliance\, and home-grown artistic masterpieces! The program opens with a special performance of a brand-new composition by ECO’s very own multi-talented Music Director\, William Hill. Celebrated for his evocative storytelling and sophisticated orchestrations\, Mr. Hill brings a captivating world-premiere voice to the stage to launch our celebratory afternoon. \nNext\, the spotlight turns to popular local piano favorite Jamie Shaak as she joins ECO to perform Maurice Ravel’s dazzling Piano Concerto in G Major. Written between 1929 and 1931 after Ravel took an inspiring tour of the United States\, this spectacular concerto is heavily infused with the sounds of American jazz and Gershwin-esque rhythms. From the literal whip-crack that opens the first movement to the deeply touching\, heart-wrenching beauty of the long piano solo in the second movement\, the piece culminates in a breathless\, high-speed musical carnival that pushes the bounds of piano virtuosity. \nThe concert and the season culminate with Antonín Dvořák’s monumental Symphony No. 9 in E Minor\, “From the New World” Composed during Dvořák’s time as the director of the National Conservatory of Music in New York City\, this iconic masterwork bridges European symphonic tradition with the wide-open horizons of late-19th-century America. Inspired by African-American spirituals and Native American melodies\, the symphony captures a profound sense of yearning\, hope\, and discovery. From the achingly beautiful English horn solo in the Largo to the thunderous\, driving brass chords of the grand finale\, it remains one of the most beloved and thrilling symphonies ever written. \nProgram: \nWilliam Hill\nTBA – World Premiere! \nMaurice Ravel\nPiano Concerto In G Major \nI. SUMMARY:Virtual Ticket - 2026-2027 Masterworks Concert Series - Season Finale Concert
DESCRIPTION:Livestream Only Tickets!\nMasterworks Concert Series\nSeason Finale Concert\nDenver Performance\nJoin the Evergreen Chamber Orchestra for an unforgettable grand finale to our 45th season\, celebrating sweeping masterworks\, brilliance\, and home-grown artistic masterpieces!
