Bill’s Fourth Symphony is composed in the “classical” style featuring four movements. \nThe second half of the program consists of a classical masterpiece – Franz Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 101 in D Major\, H. 1/101 – known by its colloquial name “The Clock” for the ticking rhythm throughout the second movement. This work is part of a group of the twelve London Symphonies that Haydn composed during his two visits to London.
