The Evergreen Chamber Orchestra is an all-volunteer group of musicians dedicated to putting on amazing performances of the greatest musical masterworks of the past four hundred years.
ECO, now in our 41st season, performs four Masterworks Concert Series and several Special Events each year in Evergreen and Denver. This season, the orchestra is performing great works by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Clara Wieck-Schumann, Puccini, and other familiar composers – alongside new compositions by our own Music Director, William Hill.

ECO’s Music Director, William Hill, will likely be familiar to many classical music lovers in the Denver metro – he has been the Principal Timpanist and resident composer of the Colorado Symphony for decades!

ECO routinely features internationally-renowned concert artists as soloists at our Masterworks Concert Series events. Just last season, Colorado Symphony concertmaster Yumi Hwang-Williams joined us to perform Joseph Bologne’s Violin Concerto No. 2, and Steinway Artist Katie Mahan joined us to perform Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.
This season, Colorado Symphony principal violist Basil Vendryes will join us to perform Bruch’s Romanze and a world-premiere of a new concerto for viola, percussion, and string orchestra by our Music Director, William Hill. In addition, we are thrilled that Steinway Artist Stephanie Cheng will join us to perform Clara Wieck-Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A-Minor.
ECO also hosts our annual Young Artists Solo Competition to foster the musical growth of talented youth in our communities. Our most recent first-prize winner was Jocelynn King, an extremely gifted young pianist. She performed the first movement of Camille Saint-Saëns’ Piano Concerto No. 2 in G Minor with ECO at our 2021-2022 Spring Concert.
In addition to our orchestral Masterworks Concert Series, ECO also hosts four Chamber Recital Series events throughout the season. These wonderfully intimate events, hosted at St. Laurence Episcopal Church in Conifer, are a great opportunity to hear ECO’s musicians perform in a chamber music setting.
