ECO Live-Streaming

Setup for Your Home

We are very pleased to be offering Live-Stream tickets to ECO events for the first time ever! This is a new endeavor for us, and we’ll do everything we can to ensure your experience is the best it can possibly be.

There are a number of different methods by which you can enjoy our live-streams, and we have created a set of instructions for different scenarios below.

ON YOUR TV - RECOMMENDED

The method by which you stream the concert to your TV is primarily determined by two key points:

  1. Whether you use your phone or your computer to access the live-stream link in your ticket email
  2. Whether you have a wi-fi enabled Smart TV (or a regular TV with an internet-connected device like an Apple TV or ChromeCast stick) OR a regular TV
USING A COMPUTER TO CAST TO A WI-FI ENABLED SMART TV
  1. Make sure your computer and your Smart TV are connected to the same wi-fi network. Also make sure your Smart TV is on.
  2. We strongly recommend using either Google Chrome as your internet browser. It offers the simplest connection to wi-fi enabled Smart TVs. If you don’t have Google Chrome, we strongly recommend downloading it here: https://www.google.com/chrome/
  3. On your computer, open the Google Chrome internet browser. Click on the live-stream link in your ticket email. If for some reason your computer opens the video in another browser, please copy the link from the browser URL field (where you type in a web address) and paste it into the URL field in Google Chrome. Alternatively, you can also right-click on the live-stream link and select “Copy Link Address”, and then paste it in your Google Chrome browser URL field.
  4. Once you’ve opened the live-stream link in Google Chrome, please click on the “Play on TV” icon in the bottom-right corner of the video screen. You may need to hover your mouse over the video screen to be able to see these icons. The icon looks like a rectangle with a wi-fi icon inside it, and it is just to the left of the “Full Screen” icon. If you hover over each icon without clicking on it, you will be able to see labels.
  5. Once you click “Play on TV”, a menu of available cast destinations will pop up in the top-right corner of your screen. Select your Smart TV (usually it will have the brand and model of the TV in the name).
  6. At this point, the live-stream should be playing on your TV!
USING AN APPLE COMPUTER WITH SAFARI TO AIRPLAY TO AN APPLE TV
  1. Make sure your Apple computer and your Apple TV are connected to the same wi-fi network. Also make sure your TV is on and is displaying the input connection that the Apple TV is connected to.
  2. Click on the Live-Stream link in your ticket email. It should open in Safari – Apple’s default internet browser. If for some reason the link opens in another browser, please copy the link from the browser URL field (where you type in a web address) and paste it into the URL field in a new Safari browser window. Alternatively, you can also right-click on the live-stream link and select “Copy Link Address”, and then paste it in your Safari browser URL field.
  3. Once you’ve opened the live-stream link in Safari, please click on the Airplay icon at the bottom-right corner of the video screen. You may need to hover your mouse over the video screen to be able to see these icons. The icon is just to the left of the “Full Screen” icon, and looks like a hollow rectangle with a solid triangle at the bottom. If you hover over each icon without clicking on it, you will be able to see labels.
  4. Once you click on the Airplay icon, it will bring up a list of available Airplay destinations. Please click on the appropriate Apple TV.
  5. At this point, the stream should be playing on your TV!
VIA AN HDMI CABLE FROM YOUR COMPUTER TO YOUR TV
  1. Requires a computer with an HDMI output slot and an HDMI cable, and a TV with one HDMI input slot available. Your HDMI cable must be able to reach from your computer to your TV – this generally works best with a laptop unless your desktop computer is close enough!
  2. Click on the live-stream link in your ticket email in your internet browser.
  3. Insert one end of the HDMI cable into your computer’s HDMI output slot and the other end into one of your TV’s HDMI input slots.
  4. On your TV, set your screen to display the HDMI Input slot you inserted the HDMI cable into.
  5. On your computer, go to your Display Settings and either mirror your computer’s display or make it a second screen.
  6. Make sure the Internet browser window with the ECO Live Stream is visible on your TV.
  7. On your computer, go to your Audio Settings and make sure your output is set to “HDMI” – this way the audio will play out of your TV.
  8. At this point, the live-stream should be playing on your TV!
USING YOUR MOBILE DEVICE'S YOUTUBE APP AND YOUR TV's YOUTUBE APP
  1. Requires a Smart TV with the YouTube App installed, and a smartphone or tablet with the YouTube App installed.
  2. Go to your TV’s home screen or applications screen and look for YouTube. If it’s not already installed, you can easily download the app on almost any smart TV. Make sure you have the YouTube app installed on your phone or tablet, as well. You don’t necessarily need a YouTube account to do this.
  3. First, make sure your smartphone or tablet and your TV are both connected to the same wi-fi network.
  4. Click on the live-stream link in your ticket email on your smartphone or tablet. Make sure it opens in the YouTube App – if it opens in your internet browser, you should see the option to “Open in the YouTube App” at the top of the screen.
  5. Once you’ve opened the live-stream link in the YouTube app on your smartphone or tablet, click on your account icon in the top-right corner (it’s a circle just to the right of the “Search” icon).
  6. Click on “Settings”, then click on “General”, then click on “Watch on TV”.
  7. Then, grab the remote for your Smart TV and open the YouTube app on your TV.
  8. Go to “Settings” (click the left arrow on your remote to see the menu, then scroll down to “Settings”).
  9. Scroll down to “Link TV and Phone”. You can either link via wi-fi or via a TV Code.
  10. On your smartphone or tablet you should be able to see the option to select your TV under “Link via Wi-Fi”. Click “Link via Wi-Fi”.
  11. If for some reason you are unable to “Link via Wi-Fi”, it is also possible to link via a TV Code. Select that option on your TV to view the code, and then enter that code in the YouTube app on your smartphone or tablet.
  12. At this point the live-stream should be playing on your TV!
VIA CHROMECAST TO A NON-SMART TV
  1. Requires a computer, Google Chrome internet browser, and a ChromeCast stick plugged into your TV.
  2. Click on the live-stream link in your ticket email on your computer – make sure it opens in the Google Chrome internet browser.
  3. Make sure your TV is on and connected to the same wi-fi as your computer, and make sure your Google ChromeCast stick is plugged into your TV.
  4. Once you’ve opened the live-stream web page in a Chrome internet browser window, click on the three vertical dots next to your account icon (it will be the farthest-right icon in the same row as the web address).
  5. Click “Cast” and select the ChromeCast device connected to your TV.
OTHER METHODS

There are other methods to view our stream on your TV, but we’ve listed the most common here. If you have any difficulties or need any assistance, please email us at board@evergreenchamberorch.org and we will be happy to help!

ON YOUR SMARTPHONE OR COMPUTER

  1. Simply click the live-stream link in your ticket email, which should open the stream in the YouTube App or in an internet browser.
  2. We STRONGLY recommend using a good pair of speakers or headphones to ensure you have an excellent listening experience. We will be using professional audio equipment for this live-stream and laptop / phone speakers will likely not provide a good experience.
