Join Our Woodwind Section

We are seeking a highly qualified Principal Oboist to join our ensemble. At ECO, we rehearse and perform with an intentional, detailed, and joyous style under the direction of Music Director William (Bill) Hill – former Principal Timpanist of the Colorado Symphony.

Audition Process

Rather than a traditional audition, Music Director Hill would prefer to identify 4-5 highly qualified and motivated candidates who will be invited to perform a concert cycle with the orchestra. We are looking for a great player who also shares our positive and joyous attitude for rehearsals and performances.

Position Highlights & Expectations:

Role: Principal Oboe
Rehearsal & Performance Commitments:

• Rehearsals are usually held at Wellshire Presbyterian Church in Denver
• Season Preview Concert at Cactus Jack’s Saloon & Grill
  • 2 rehearsals from 7:00-10:00pm
• 4 Masterworks Concerts performed twice – Saturdays in the Foothills and Sundays in Denver
  • 4 rehearsals on Tuesday nights from 7:00-9:30pm
  • 2 rehearsals concert week on Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00-10:00 pm
• Colorado Mountain Holiday Concert
  • 3 rehearsals from 7:00-10:00pm

Compensation Status: Stipend Honorarium
