Young Artists Solo Competition 2023 – 2024

Evergreen Chamber Orchestra is proud to announce the third edition of our Young Artists Solo Competition! 

Fostering the development of the next generation of talented musicians is incredibly important to ECO and the community at large. We are thrilled to play a part in providing performance opportunities and bringing recognition to these young musicians as they enter a critical stage of their musical studies. 

Colorado musicians of high school age or younger are encouraged to apply to audition a piece of their choice for solo instrument (or voice!) and orchestra before ECO’s panel of distinguished jurors on Monday, October 2nd, 2023 in Denver and Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023 in Evergreen. The jurors will provide feedback and guidance regarding execution, performance practice, and the musical interpretation of the piece. 

Once all applicants have auditioned, the jurors will deliberate to determine the prizewinners. The first-place winner will receive a cash prize of $200 and a private coaching session with ECO Music Director William Hill in preparation to perform their piece with Evergreen Chamber Orchestra during our Colorado Mountain Holiday Concerts on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 3:00pm and 6:00pm. 

The second-place and third-place winners will receive cash prizes of $100 and $50, respectively.
